Lauren performs solo with instrumental tracks and also sings in two bands: a Heart tribute band where she is lead singer (pureheartband.com) and a party band playing hits from the 40s to today (dejavusound.com)!

Lauren Shell adopted her stage name from her middle name “Michele” and from the idea of breaking out of one’s shell through music.

She grew up in a family band alongside her parents and four sisters. Together, they created original children’s music and used their talents to support charitable causes, including the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon, and local children’s hospitals.

With performances at events like “SunFest” and Major League Baseball games, Lauren and her sisters captivated audiences with their harmonies and infectious energy. They also had the privilege of sharing their music with influential figures such as former General Colin Powell, a former Miss America, and composer Marvin Hamlisch.

Lauren’s musical repertoire expanded to include Broadway classics from “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Les Miserables,” “Sunset Boulevard,” and more. Drawing inspiration from artists like Barbra Streisand, Carole King, The Carpenters, and Ann Wilson, she developed a versatile singing style that encompasses contemporary pop, rock/classic rock, and jazz standards.

When Lauren reunited with her childhood friend Justin Jesso in 2016, she began work on her original music. Known for his collaboration on Kygo’s hit song “Stargazing,” Justin inspired her to pursue her own independent music career. Lauren crafts her own melodies and lyrics, and collaborates with producers to bring her visions to life, infusing her songs with a fierce and passionate energy.

With over 30 songs already drafted, Lauren’s music delves into themes of control, empowerment, love, heartbreak, and having fun. With danceable beats and a strong bass, she aims to create an empowering and captivating sound. Her influences are Janet, Britney, Bruno, Demi, Katy, Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, Michelle Branch, and more.
